Christmas news letter 2018

Oliver’s Sailing Holidays - Newsletter 2018

Hello,

We have a new yacht!

We hope that you have all had a good 2018, we have had a busy and fun year. The boatyard is starting to become a little community of people and ducks. Nick has been feeding Mr and Mrs Mallard all year, they had six ducklings and now we regularly have nine arriving at meal times! They look so healthy, we are concerned that they will end up as part of someone’s Christmas celebrations!

Some of our customers have shown interest in hiring a smaller traditional sailing yacht and so three weeks ago though a friend of a friend we heard about a beautiful Farrington 25 “Seabreeze” she was privately owned with self tailing winches, heating, lots of high quality extras. She sails to the same very high standard as Bright Spark and Dreamtime, and her accommodation is very comfortable. We were grateful that one of our regular customers was able to test sail her for us. They were very impressed and have written a review that you can read on our website. We already have two bookings for her next year which we think is a good start.

With sun, sun and more sun 2018 has been a really good year, even with Alison getting heat stoke! (Yes in the UK). Did you know that East Anglia has one of the lowest rainfalls in the UK. The Broads being close to the coast also gets the benefit of a sea breeze on those hot summer days.

From 2019 are now offering skippered / learn to sail holidays. These are aimed at customers wishing to learn to sail, and customers getting to the point where they need some assistance with the ‘lifting and shifting' bits, but still want to be able to take a sailing holiday on the Broads. Our skippers are all qualified and we are starting the paperwork to become an RYA approved sailing school.

We are looking to recruit a RYA qualified sailing instructor, working from mid June to mid September 2019, we would love to hear from you if you know anyone who is interested?

We want to thank you again for choosing to holiday with us and we look forward to welcoming you again. We wish you all a joyous and peaceful Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

With very best wishes
Nick, Alison and the team at Oliver’s Sailing
