The past day has been extremely fun! We woke up bright and early, from our very comfortable beds and had a delicious breakfast. We were very surprised at the ovens ability to cook delicious bacon from the hamper. We took off the cover and started sailing as soon as we got dressed. The river was beautiful in the morning, and we soon reached a broad. It was perfect conditions for sailing and we were zipping along! We soon had to stop for lunch, which we had outside in the sun-it was an incredible setting to eat the yummy cottage pie. We sailed for the rest of the afternoon, long the river and around the broads. It got quite dark, and and we had to find a place to moor. The broads look ethereal at night. We found a lovely secluded place and put the cover back on. Supper was again really delicious- Macaroni cheese, and we gladly got back into our beds, and told ghost stories. but we were all so tired we went to sleep quite quickly with the rain gently catering on the roof.

Sailing on the Norfolk Broads soaking up the beautiful surroundings, vistas that have remained unchanged for hundreds of years the broads (lakes), rivers, windmills, reed beds, and marshes. Birds coming so close, they don't seem to mind sharing the broads with you, more wildlife than you’ve seen anywhere in a long time. Spotting a beautiful vintage boat, exchanging pleasantries across the water with other sailors who love to be out on the river.

When you wake early, sunrises across the water, lifting darkness into light, just the geese and ducks for company, sunlight reflecting off the water, still and quite, save for the calls of the birds. Breakfast on deck a slow leisurely affair with the smell of bacon and freshly brewed coffee filling the air, sitting back and enjoying the river coming to life and the breeze building. Time to set sail and continue your journey, up goes the mainsail, the jib unfurls. You are off, almost silently just the water lapping gently at the bows and the occasional creek of a block or the gaff. The wind builds, slowly at first little gusts coming towards you across the water, the wind has freshened, concentration required, exhilaration as the speed increases, now she’s flying, gunnels running with water, time to reef?

Rainy days, quiet riverside pubs, lively pubs, snuggling up with a good book and a hot chocolate, playing cards, chilling out, unwinding, and rejuvenating, just being.

Sunny days washing up on deck with those stunning views, soaking up the sun, places to visit, gardens, medieval churches, quaint villages, small towns, nature reserves, fishing, fabulous walks that only the birders seem to know about. Taking photographs of Kingfishers, Marsh harriers, Swallowtail butterflies, rare dragonflies and the occasional Otter family that make there home here.

Something for everyone, never to be forgotten.
