Environmental Policy for Oliver's Sailing Holidays

We pledge to provide our customers with high-quality sailing boats at an affordable cost and environmental responsibility.

To achieve this, we will:

  • Identify the environmental aspects and impacts of our sailing business to ensure compliance with our obligations.

  • Set and review environmental objectives aligned with our business goals.

  • Establish environmental goals consistent with our dedication to continual improvement in environmental protection.

Our Environmental Performance

Oliver's Sailing Holidays is dedicated to reducing pollution across all operations, minimizing our environmental impact, enhancing operational efficiency, and lowering energy demands and costs.

An example of our commitment is the replacement of an old diesel engine on one of our yachts with a plug-in electric/diesel hybrid system. By utilizing solar-generated electricity for battery charging (when available), we demonstrate the viability of this technology on a hire yacht.

Carbon Footprint Reduction

Since our establishment in 2016, our environmental objectives have centered on reducing the carbon footprint across all operations. Key initiatives include:

  • Conversion of one yacht to electric/diesel propulsion.

  • Installation of solar panels on the boatyard roof for boat charging, general operations, and electric vehicle charging.

  • Adoption of an electric car as company transport and providing electric car charging for customers.

Carbon Footprint Goals

Our future projects aim to further enhance our environmental performance:

  • Achieve a 100% fleet conversion to hybrid electric/diesel propulsion when suitable.

  • Expand the solar panel system to maximize energy independence.

  • Implement battery storage within the boatyard to store solar energy for later use.

  • Advocate for the adoption of electric propulsion among yacht owners and operators.

  • Utilize solar panels for hot water heating in the boatyard.

Oliver's Sailing Holidays remains committed to these initiatives, constantly seeking innovative ways to contribute to environmental sustainability in the Norfolk Broads National Park and beyond.
