Customer Sailing Holiday Reviews

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for the most lovely long weekend on Bright Spark. I've spent 19 years renting yachts, and yours was the most beautiful, best equipped and most fun to sail I've ever chartered. You were so helpful during the booking process, the hamper was delicious and thank you for picking up the extra food we ordered from the deli - the ready meals were amazing. Nick's manual was exceptionally helpful and clear, and his run through faultless.

Above all Bright Spark is a dream to handle, with all your added extras making the world of difference.  Rather than renting one of many boats from a faceless charter company, it felt like we were borrowing your pride and joy, and the boat felt very different - and very much more loved - as a result.

We had the best three days in October half term - mooring up on deserted dykes, spotting so many birds, telling ghost stories at night, storming around broads and feeling brave enough to sail up rivers.  Astrid my youngest even made a flag especially for the weekend.  We felt like celebrities on the boat - everyone wanted to take pictures and talk about the boat and her topsail at every turn.

We'd love to come back next year - you're lovely people and I hope your business takes off.  You deserve every success that comes your way.

Many thanks again

Jonathan, Lola (12), Felix (11) and Astrid (7)

What a fabulous end to the summer holidays! Bright Spark was fun to sail and a comfortable and beautiful boat inside and out - everyone seemed to want us in their photos! Lots of fun with three children - even on the one rainy afternoon, playing cards around the cabin table. Best part: Sailing on Wroxham broad.

What an amazing holiday. Bright Spark truly is a delightful boat to sail. My sailing is typically in high performance dinghy like 49ers and 18ft skiffs so I doubted that I would be all that impressed with a vintage type boat, how wrong was I. My girlfriend and I spent 5 magical days cruising the broads we went at a very leisurely place and surprised our self’s with how much we got to see and how far we went. My girlfriend was a bit of a novice, she had spent some time on Sunsail yachts and could get a topper around a triangular course so the first thing we did was go to a broad get her on the helm and get her comfortable with helming and basic manoeuvres after an hour of that and one man over board (my glasses fell in the water so I decided in a split second to go after them) we were ready for our adventure and off we went. My girlfriend spent most of the time on the tiller whilst I looked after furling / lowering hoisting the sails and dropping / raising the mast at the bridges, all relativity easy tasks once you are shown the ropes on your induction sail out to Wroxham. The boat sails like a dream, and all the systems worked so smoothly, so well in fact most of the time we could furl / drop the sails have them tied up and drift leisurely up to a parking spot to step off and tie up all without turning the engine on, it really did handle like a small dinghy. If needed the engine was on in a heartbeat to get you to shore or upwind along a particularly narrow bit of broad. The kitchen is so well equipped you could cook a roast (no kidding). The pop top camper roof is brilliant, sleek whilst sailing with loads of room when you pull up for the night or just a cup of tea. You will soon get used to being the envy of the broads, just about every other sail boat has a positive comment on the top sail as you ghost past them effortless using the breaths of wind above the tree line. Get used to being photographed, you will be the most photogenic vessel on the water. I was hoping for a romantic, relaxed holiday and that’s exactly what we got, cruising down a particularly beautiful portion of the river Ant, I dropped to one knee and proposed she said yes so ultimately we had the best holiday ever, even with the occasional rain shower. Thanks so much to Alison and the team at Oliver Sailing Holidays for making the holiday so special and making the booking from another country / time zone so effortless. We live in Australia but we will be back for another holiday soon.

What an amazing Honeymoon! Bright Spark did not disappoint on any count. She looks beautiful, sails incredibly and the welcome hamper was just above and beyond.
A week was not long enough, we could have happily stayed for another. Thank you so much for your hospitality and allowing us to sail Bright Spark, we couldn’t have asked for a better Honeymoon.
Thank You!

"Hi Alison and Nick,
Once again thanks for the use of your wonderful boat. We all had a great time with a few adventures on the way... The challengers of river sailing were interesting for Pete and Judy as they usually sail on the sea with a bit more room to manoeuvre...
The quality of finish on the timber work is the best I have ever seen on a small yacht, a credit to you. All the bedding and galley equipment was of a high quality and much apretiated and the welcome pack was very generous and very welcome for our first day...
We wish you all the very best in your venture and will never forget what lovely people you are. We would certainly recommend you to any of our friends who would fancy a sailing holiday on the Broads... I hope you like the pictures, a pity the cloudy weather did not show up the colours as well as I would have liked.
With kindest Regard and all the best for the future.
David and Jean Pete and Judy"

Bright Spark looks pretty in the pictures; it is absolutely beautiful to sail, Ghosting in no wind or storming along in a force 4. What a brilliant week, loved it. (didn’t want to give her back).

“Hi Alison,
Just to say what a fantastic day we had yesterday. We loved the scenery and the peace and quiet. What a lovely area. I think the highlight of the day for Humphrey was negotiating the low bridges, he loves a challenge.
The Hamper was delightful full of local products, strawberries and the chocolate cake went down a treat.
A big thank you to Bob who made the day so interesting. I still can’t tie a bowline quickly but I will keep trying.
We wish you every success on your first season.
— Humphrey and Dorothy

Wonderful traditional sailing boat to explore one of our favourite parts of the country, the Norfolk Boards. Alison and Nick did every thing possible to ensure we had a great time. Highly recommended.
